Who the student portal is for

Student accounts are for people aged 16 or older. A student under 16 uses AmirTutors through an account their parent or guardian sets up and manages. A parent or guardian must arrange tutoring for a student under 18. If you believe someone under 16 has provided account information, contact Amir so the account can be reviewed and the information removed where appropriate.

Information collected

• Account information: name, email address, chosen display name, sign-in provider, account verification, age-eligibility confirmation and records of accepted terms. Google sign-in, when available and chosen, may also provide a profile image. Email/password accounts use a password hash; your password is not shown to Amir.
• Learning information: selected questions, submitted answers, attempts, time spent, use of help, saved questions and notes, practice sessions, skill estimates, points, stickers and lesson-plan selections.
• Tutoring and messages: contact details, correspondence and session dates, times, status and information necessary to arrange the lesson, and the scores, goals and test dates a parent chooses to send for a score review.
• Technical and website-use information: session identifiers, IP address, browser/device information and security or operational records. If enabled, Cloudflare Web Analytics provides aggregate public-traffic analytics without an Amir Tutors analytics cookie. For account signup and signed-in product use, Amir Tutors records a limited set of first-party events, such as account creation, verification, first independent practice, the day a main feature was used and tutoring-request counts. Tagged campaign fields, the referring site's host and a known public landing route can be recorded; full referring URLs and query strings are not stored in these events. A practice draft can also be saved in your browser when you choose the save action. Google's tag receives the information described under "Cookies, browser storage and tracking choices" when you visit the home page, About, Parents, the UAE page, the tutoring policy or the score review page, whether or not you came from an ad.

Please do not put passwords, government identifiers, payment-card details, full birth dates, medical records or other people's personal information in notebook notes or ordinary email. Ask Amir how to arrange an accommodation without sending a full school or medical file.

How information is used

Information is used to provide and protect accounts, save learning progress, personalize practice, prepare tutoring, answer messages and investigate errors or misuse. The practice planner uses recorded learning activity to select existing reviewed material. Its estimates are learning aids, not official test scores or decisions about school admission.

Amir can review account and learning information needed to provide tutoring and support. Your notebook is not public. Access by the tutor and service providers necessary to operate the website is different from sharing information with other students.

Optional student leaderboard

Leaderboard participation is off by default. If you turn it on in Account settings, your chosen display name and points can be shown to other signed-in students. Choose a nickname if you prefer. You can turn participation off again in Account settings; this removes you from subsequent leaderboard displays.

Service providers and other recipients

The website runs on Cloudflare's infrastructure and database services, which process website and account information to operate the portal. Transactional email, when enabled, uses Cloudflare's email service to deliver verification and password-reset messages. Messages you email to Amir are handled through Gmail.

If you choose Google sign-in, Google handles authentication under its own terms. When a lesson or consultation is booked, contact details and session information are sent to Google Calendar to arrange the appointment and its invitations. Student practice answers and notebook notes are not included in calendar invitations by the website.

Amir Tutors advertises on Google. Google's ad measurement tag helps Google Ads count consultation requests that come from its ads. If you turn on ad measurement, the tag can use cookies and tell Google which ad you clicked to do this. If you do not, it sends Google limited signals without cookies, which Google may use to estimate ad results. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, the tag never uses cookies and does not report your consultation request. Google processes what its tag receives under its own terms and privacy policy. The website asks Google not to use this data for ad personalization or remarketing.

The practice page provides access to the official Desmos testing calculator. If the calculator is displayed inside the practice page, your browser connects to Desmos when that page loads. If a separate link is shown, that connection occurs when you open the link. Desmos receives technical information such as your IP address and browser details and handles information entered in its calculator under its own policies. Our website does not send your account details or notebook notes to the calculator. See the Desmos privacy policy and cookie policy, and Google's privacy policy.

Information may also be disclosed when legally required, to respond to a valid legal request, or when reasonably necessary to protect people's safety or investigate fraud or security incidents. Access is limited to what is appropriate for the purpose. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Cookies, browser storage and tracking choices

Sign-in uses necessary cookies to maintain and protect your session. A short-lived necessary cookie records age and terms confirmation while account setup completes. The current sign-in configuration uses sessions lasting up to seven days, which may renew while the account is used. A manually saved practice draft can remain in browser storage until removed. Signing out does not necessarily erase browser-saved drafts; clear this site's browser data on a shared device. To help prevent duplicate consultation requests, this browser tab saves a random reference number and a code computed from your answers, when your browser allows it. When it does, we also store that reference with your request, together with a code computed from the request and, if you are signed in, your account. If you delete your account, we remove both from every request that gave your account's email address.

Ad cookies are off unless you turn them on. Google's tag loads for every visitor on the six pages named below. Before you choose, and after you turn ad measurement off, the tag runs with Google's consent mode set to deny storage, so it sets no advertising cookies. It still sends Google limited signals without cookies, including that you visited the page and that a consultation request was submitted, identified only by its reference number and never by your name or contact details, and Google may use them to estimate ad results. Turning ad measurement on lets the tag use cookies and share your ad click with Google, so Google can link your request to the ad you clicked. You can turn it on or off with the switch on this page; your choice is saved in this browser. Pages that have the tag go back to denying storage when you turn it off. A hidden or suspended page does this when you return to it. Ad cookies set while it was on stay in your browser until they expire or you clear them, but the tag no longer reads or updates them. A Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal from your browser keeps it off, and the tag then does not report your consultation request. Turning it off, or blocking Google's tag, does not prevent you from sending a request.

Where the tag can run. Google's tag can load on the home page, About, Parents, the UAE page, the tutoring policy and the score review page, on every visit to those pages, whether or not you came from an ad. It never runs on any other page of this website, including sign in, student, parent, classroom and billing pages: going from one of those six pages to any other page opens a new page without it.

What the website sends to Google. When a consultation request is saved, the website asks Google's tag to report that a request was submitted. With it goes a reference number that contains no names, contact details or form answers and helps Google avoid counting the same request twice. The website never sends the names, contact details or answers you type into the request form.

What Google's tag receives on its own. Like any web page tool, the tag receives technical information from your browser. Google says this includes your IP address and the address of the page. Before the tag starts, the website tells it to use that address without any part after "#" and without any query parameter except Google's ad click identifiers and, on About, the supported UAE offer setting region=uae. Once the page is ready, the website removes the same query parameters from the address in your browser, and any part after "#" other than this website's own section links, such as #request. The website asks the tag to report only the main address of any website you came from, not the page. Google says its tag can set cookies on this website whose names begin with _gcl, and lists them as lasting 90 days; Google may also use its own cookies on its own websites. These cookie details are Google's description, not something this website has measured.

Consultation diagnostics are off unless you turn them on. This separate choice is saved in this browser; turning on ad measurement does not turn on consultation diagnostics. When you turn diagnostics on, the website adds to daily totals for arrivals on its public offer pages, consultation-button clicks, the first interaction with a request field and successfully saved requests. The totals contain only the day in New York, the US or UAE offer, a broad device type and the step reached. They contain no names, contact details, typed answers, request or visitor identifiers, page addresses or referring addresses, and are not sent to Google. These are event counts, not counts of distinct people or a record of anyone's journey. As with other website requests, Cloudflare processes technical connection information to operate and protect the website.

Turning consultation diagnostics off stops new diagnostic counts without affecting your request. A Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal keeps both optional choices off. If enabled, Cloudflare Web Analytics provides aggregate traffic counts. Limited first-party acquisition and product-use events are stored in the Amir Tutors database and are not used for cross-site tracking or fingerprinting. Account-linked learning records support your practice and tutoring. Necessary account, learning and security operations continue when your browser sends a Do Not Track signal. We do not sell personal information. Third-party tools such as Desmos have their own storage and tracking practices. You can block cookies or clear site data through your browser, but some sign-in and save functions may then stop working.

How long information is kept

Account and learning records are kept while needed to provide your account and tutoring. Requests to close an account or remove information are reviewed individually. Records that are no longer needed are deleted or de-identified, subject to records that must be retained for a legal obligation, security investigation or a specific dispute. Backups and service-provider logs may remain for a limited period under the provider's retention practices; they are not a substitute for keeping an active student account. Payment and lesson records are kept after an account is deleted, for disputes and taxes; Square is the payment processor.

Detailed first-party acquisition and product-use events are scheduled for deletion before they reach 90 days. Maintenance runs every 15 minutes and drains expired event rows in bounded batches. A provider delay can delay that scheduled removal. If Cloudflare Web Analytics is enabled, aggregate public-traffic retention follows Cloudflare's service settings. There is currently no automatic inactivity-deletion schedule for the account and learning records described above. You can request deletion at any time. To cancel an appointment, contact Amir separately.

Your requests and choices

Email amirabusafieh@gmail.com to request access to your information, a copy, correction, account closure or deletion, or to raise a privacy concern. You can also change your display name and leaderboard setting in Account settings and remove saved notebook items through the portal where those controls are available.

Amir will verify identity using information proportionate to the request. Do not email a password or identity document. A parent or guardian can contact Amir about a minor's account; their identity and authority must be checked before information is shared. Paying for tutoring does not give someone automatic login access to a student's account. Applicable privacy rights depend on where you live; nothing in this policy takes away rights provided by law.

Security and location

Account access controls and other safeguards are used to protect information, but no website can guarantee absolute security. This is a U.S.-based service; providers may process information in the United States and other places where they operate.

Policy changes and contact

Changes will be posted here with a revised date. Material changes to how existing personal information is used will be brought to affected users' attention, and additional consent will be requested where required. Questions can be sent to Amir Abusafieh at amirabusafieh@gmail.com.
